After hour coverage is provided seven days a week through walk-in clinics, the Emergency Departments at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, and the Prince County Hospital in Summerside. There are morning, afternoon and evening walk-in clinics at Sherwood Family Medical Centre. Walk-in clinics are on a first come first serve basis and are generally meant to serve problems of acute but non-critical nature. Problems such as trauma, chest pain, significant lacerations, life-threatening asthma, or seizures are best handled in the Emergency Rooms.
